Creativity knows no bounds! As a hub of fashion and culinary delights in Hong Kong, Fashion Walk is taking its CHEER emotional value a step further by combining it with creative arts. Together with the Hong Kong SEN Art Association, Fashion Walk is hosting the 'CHEER Creative Art Weekend' from June 7 to 8, 2025. The event features street art murals and interactive workshops led by multiple SEN artists, as well as sharing sessions where they will recount their artistic journeys and insights. This infusion of diverse artistic expressions aims to inject a vibrant, multicultural ambiance into the Causeway Bay community, crafting a novel cultural exchange arena.
SEN Artists Showcase Their Creativity and Talents Through Street Murals at Causeway Bay Food Street @ Fashion Walk
Coinciding with Hang Lung's 65th anniversary, Fashion Walk has invited two local SEN artists to create large-scale murals inspired by their personal experiences and the evolution of Causeway Bay. Artist Tong Wing-yan, who has hearing loss, depicts the neighborhood's past and transformation in her work, Causeway Bay Streetscape of Yesteryear. The painting includes landmarks like 'Daimaru' and 'Sogo,' testifying to Hang Lung's pivotal role in shaping Causeway Bay's fashion culture. The second mural, Shine Bright! Get Moving!, is crafted by Cheng Pui-wan, who has severe hearing loss. Driven by her passion for rugby, she paints a vibrant and dynamic triptych inspired by three different sports, featuring vivid contrasts and powerful imagery. Both artworks are now on display at Art Lane @ Fashion Walk in Causeway Bay, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in this artistic celebration and show their support for local artists.
SEN Artists Share Their Personal Journeys, and Interactive Workshops Bridge the Community and Art
Born without arms, SEN artist Lo Pui-wang will recount her artistic endeavors and life experiences. After completing her studies in art and design, she dedicated herself to mastering Chinese painting, ink wash painting, and calligraphy. Through her ink-and-color creations, Lo Pui-wang will testify to the resilience and wonders of life. Additionally, several SEN artists will lead interactive workshops exploring diverse themes, such as 'Japanese Landscape with Washi Tape Collage,' 'Adorable Panda 3D Needle Felting,' 'God's Eye Weaving,' and 'Hong Kong-style Cross-Stitch Coasters.' These artistic endeavors serve as a medium for interactive exchange, and everyone is welcome to join. The Hong Kong SEN Art Association will also hold a charity sale of cheongsam-style aprons, with proceeds supporting 'Art Plus,' the social enterprise under the Hong Kong SEN Art Association, to empower SEN artists to contribute to society through their artistic talents.
